March Calendar (366 Day Challenge)

I'm participating in the 366 Day Calendar Challenge at Kate Crane's blog The Kathryn Wheel.  Each month this year participants are supposed to create a calendar page, and write, draw, or otherwise note something on each day's square.  Below are my February pages, all completed.  I just collaged a bunch of Asian themed bits and pieces together (along with a cut up tissue box), and the calendar squares are cut from an Asian newspaper.

Here is my March spread.  March is very much a spring month here, although we will still have cold, even below freezing nights and some cold days -- but everything is greening up and some seeds go into the garden.  So I chose some spring like colors and scraped them onto the pages and added a little doodling.

Ok, it's basically making a calendar page each month -- any way you want -- paint, collage, whatever. I made a background, then cut out little squares from scrap paper and glued on for the days -- so you are making your own calendar (mine is in a spiral bound sketchbook). Then at the end of each day, you reflect and write or draw or note something about the day. It might just be the weather (I'm very fond of weather), or something that happened, or a feeling, or whatever. So, it's kind of like journaling. It's called 366 Calendar because there are 366 days this year. At the beginning of the month Kate posts her new calendar page and the completed one for the previous month, and a place for everyone to link their pages so you can see the different methods, styles, etc. At the end of the year you have a beautiful artsy calendar/journal of your year.

I love this challenge! It seems like so much fun. I like your March pages.

It's so warm already. I have shorts and tshirt on today. I really could plant if I wasn't afraid of a cold snap, which is still possible.

Okay- not sure to start with what I really like about your pages! The February date squares- love the Asian characters on the background and the colors. On your March page I love the flowing look you have achieved! I could go on but let's just say I love them both!
