The Days are Long but the Years are Short

I can't believe it's been 18 years since our little mermaid fairy kitty cat girl, our third daughter, entered into the world.  Today is her 19th birthday, and today her high school diploma arrived from our homeschool "umbrella" school.  I think she spent the first 8 years of her life wearing tutus, silks, and fairy wings, often with face paint of some sort, and usually with a cat tail.  And a few weeks ago she returned to her "roots" and wore fairy wings to the senior prom.  It's funny how when they are young it seems like the time stretches out interminably and things will always stay about the same -- but now, how quick it all was.  Truly just a blink of an eye.  She'll be away to college on the other side of the state within three months.

Happy birthday little mermaid fairy kitty cat!

As a personal witness to this transition, I am feeling both happy and sad to see Hannah leaving the nest. But I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Happy Birthday to your sweet girl! I'm sure you're going to cherish every moment with her this summer since she's going away for college.
